Radon Testing

What is Radon?

  • Colorless, odorless, tasteless, radioactive gas naturally resulting from the decay of uranium

  • Found in air, soil, rock, and water

  • The second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States, according to the EPA

Infographic showing radon causes about 21,000 lung cancer deaths annually, more than drunk driving, falls at home, and drownings. Bar graph compares deaths: radon 21,000, drunk driving 17,400, falls 8,000, drownings 8,000. "Did You Know?" section highlights statistics.

How is Radon Tested?

  • We use the fastest and most  advanced technology which undergoes intensive, regular quality control and quality assurance processes. The AirThings Pro Continuous Radon Monitor gives hourly readings for a minimum of 48 hours.

  • We can test for radon and inspect an existing mitigation system if already equipped to ensure this valuable feature is functioning as intended.

  • It is important for your home to be tested accurately according to national protocols. You can trust CHI to give you accurate test results

Is My Property Unlivable if Radon is Found?

  • There are no safe levels of radon, but if the levels are above the EPA’s recommended action threshold of 4.0 pCi/L, mitigation is recommended.
