Sewer Scope

Illustration showing what a sewer scope looks for, including debris, grease buildup, cracked pipes, tree roots, offset pipea, and bellies.

A sewer scope is performed to inspect the condition of a property's sewer line using a specialized camera to ensure the system is functioning properly and efficiently by identifying issues that could disrupt flow or lead to costly repairs, including but not limited to:

  • Debris: Foreign objects, such as wipes or toys, can obstruct water flow

  • Grease Buildup: Grease in pipes solidifies over time, narrowing the pipe diameter

  • Cracked Pipes: These can lead to water leaks, soil erosion, and reduced water flow

  • Tree Root Intrusion: Roots infiltrating the sewer line through cracks or joints

  • Offset Pipes: Misaligned joints can allow wastewater to escape into the surrounding soil, leading to potential contamination and erosion and create points for debris to accumulate

  • Bellied Pipes: Low points or sags in the sewer line where water and waste collect
